Apparatus for producing self-adhesive labels

US Patent 10,399,360
September 3, 2019
An apparatus and method for producing self-adhesive labels, in particular in a self-service area, for example of a drug store, is provided. The apparatus comprises a dye-sublimation thermal printer, as a printing means for printing a printing pattern onto an adhesive film, and a cutting apparatus for cutting the adhesive film along a cutting pattern, the adhesive film being moved automatically from the printing means to the cutting apparatus. Initially, only a first moving unit of the printing means moves the adhesive film at a first speed to a second moving unit of the cutting apparatus, after which both moving units move the printed adhesive film further in the forward direction.

Image diversion to capture images on a portable electronic device

US Patent 10,394,038
August 27, 2019
Technologies are generally described for optical image diversion to provide image capture and display from one or more directions using an image sensor. In some examples, an optical assembly may be used to receive light or other electromagnetic radiation from multiple (including opposing) directions and to provide light or other electromagnetic radiation to an image sensor or detector to capture images. The optical assembly may be centrally-aligned or offset. The optical assembly may be configured to allow collection of light or other electromagnetic radiation from two or more locations. An auto focus or stabilization element may be integrated into one or more optical paths inside an optical switching device. In other examples, a conical or spherical element may be employed to allow capture of panoramic/360 degree images or video. Elements may also be stacked. Furthermore, the optical assembly may be configured to split an optical beam to allow tiling or superimposition of images from different directions at the image sensor.

MRI and RF compatible leads and related methods of operating and fabricating leads

US Patent 10,391,307
August 27, 2019
RF/MRI compatible leads include at least one conductor that turns back on itself at least twice in a lengthwise direction, and can turn back on itself at least twice at multiple locations along its length. The at least one electrical lead can be configured so that the lead heats local tissue less than about 10 degrees Celsius (typically about 5 degrees Celsius or less) or does not heat local tissue when a patient is exposed to target RF frequencies at a peak input SAR of at least about 4 W/kg and/or a whole body average SAR of at least about 2 W/kg. Related devices and methods of fabricating leads are also described.

Neurostimulation lead with stiffened proximal array

US Patent 10,391,304
August 27, 2019
An implantable electrical lead is provided. The electrical lead comprises an electrically insulative, flexible, elongated lead body having a proximal end and a distal end, an electrical contact carried by the distal end of the lead body, an electrical terminal carried by the proximal end of the lead body, an electrical conductor axially extending within the lead body between the electrical contact and the electrical terminal, and a stiffening tube extending within the proximal end of the lead body from a point proximal to the terminal to a point distal to the terminal and proximal to the electrode. An implantable lead assembly kit comprises the implantable electrical lead, and a connector configured for firmly receiving the proximal end of the lead body. A method of implanting the electrical lead comprises introducing the electrical lead into a patient.

Generation of superheated steam for the preparation of a beverage

US Patent 10,390,654
August 27, 2019
Assemblies, machines, systems, and methods for the generation of superheated are discussed A steam super-heat assembly is employed for generating superheated steam for the preparation of coffee-based beverages. The assembly includes a body that includes an internal cavity, a heating element that includes heating surfaces positioned within the internal cavity, and a flow path within the internal cavity. The body also includes an input that enables fluid access into the internal cavity and an output that enables fluid egress out of the internal cavity. The heating element heats the heating surfaces of the heating element. The flow path enables fluid to flow from the input, through the internal cavity of the body, and to the output of the body. The heating surfaces form a portion of the flow path. When the fluid flows through the internal cavity, the fluid is in direct physical contact with the heating surfaces.

Inserting and removing stateful devices in a network

US Patent 10,389,611
August 20, 2019
Embodiments are directed to managing communication over a network with traffic management computers (TMCs). If network traffic that is statelessly monitored is selected for stateful monitoring, the TMCs may perform operations to transition from stateless monitoring to stateful monitoring with minimal disruption of users/clients. TMCs may receive the network traffic that include network packets. If the network packets are statelessly monitored by the TMCs one or more stateless network management operations may be performed on the network packets. If the network packets may be statefully monitored the TMCs may perform stateful network management operations on the network packets.

Ranking alerts based on network monitoring

US Patent 10,389,574
August 20, 2019
Embodiments are directed to monitoring network traffic. A monitoring engine may monitor network traffic associated with a plurality of entities in networks to provide metrics. And provide a device relation model based on the plurality of entities, the network traffic, and the metrics. An inference engine may associate each entity in the plurality of entities with an importance score based on the device relation model and the metrics such that each importance score is associated with a significance of an entity to operations of the networks. An alert engine may generate a plurality of alerts associated with the plurality of entities based on the metrics. And provide one or more alerts from the plurality of alerts to one or more users based on one or more ranked importance scores associated with one or more entities.

Continuously variable resolution of resource allocation

US Patent 10,387,815
August 20, 2019
Embodiments are directed towards allocating resources in a business system. A data model that includes a plurality data objects may be generated, such that each data object includes a plurality of data object line items. Allocation rules that allocate resources between the data objects may be generated. The allocation rules may be employed to identify key features of data objects, such that the key features are used by the allocation rules to allocate resources. If key features are identified, grouped objects that separately correspond to the data objects that include key features may be generated. Also, grouped object line items may be generated for each of the grouped objects based on each distinct value of the key features, such that the data object line items are collapsed into grouped object line items based on the distinct values of the key features.
