Methods and systems for producing shipping labels

US Patent 10,417,726
September 17, 2019
Methods and systems for producing shipping labels are provided. Example embodiments provide a Shipping Label Production System ("SLPS"), which produces shipping labels based on a shipping uniform resource identifier ("URI") that identifies a shipping protocol and includes shipment information and post-back information. The SLPS may be configured to produce, in accordance with the shipping protocol, a shipping label by outputting a shipping label based on the shipment information, and automatically posting information about the producing of the shipping label to a code module identified by the post-back information. In some embodiments, the actions of the SLPS may be initiated by a Web browser in response to a user selection of a shipping URI. This abstract is provided to comply with rules requiring an abstract, and it is submitted with the intention that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

Recursive processing of object allocation rules

US Patent 10,417,591
September 17, 2019
Various embodiments are directed towards allocating costs for a plurality of cost objects. In at least one of the various embodiments, a source object and a target object in a data model may be determined such that an allocation rule is used to define one or more cost allocations where the costs flows from the source object to the target object. Allocation rules that are part of a recursive allocation rule may be executed on the source object and the target object until a terminal condition is met. The cost value that corresponds to the source object may be modified based on the allocation rule and the generated cost value. This process may continue until a terminal condition is met. After the terminal condition has been met final costs value corresponding to the target object and the source object may be generated and displayed.

Fault-tolerant methods, systems and architectures for data storage, retrieval and distribution

US Patent 10,417,103
September 17, 2019
The disclosure is directed towards fault-tolerant methods, systems and architectures for data distribution. One method includes generating fault distribution tables. The table entries correspond to a copy of data records. The entry and copy are associated with a fault status, a node, and a group that are based on a position of the entry within the distribution table. The method also includes storing the copy of the data record that corresponds to the entry in a database that is included in a plurality of databases. In response to determining an unavailable node included in the plurality of nodes, the method determines a fault status, a node, and a group. The method provides an available node sequential access to data records that are stored in a particular database that is stored locally on the available node in a tree structure.

Automated risk assessment based on machine generated investigation

US Patent 10,411,982
September 10, 2019
Embodiments are directed to monitoring network traffic using a network computer. The network computer provides anomaly information associated with anomalies that may be associated with monitored network traffic. An inference engine may determine the users associated with the anomalies based on the monitored network traffic. A communication channel associated with the users may be determined based on the anomalies and the monitored network traffic such that the communication channel may be separate from the monitored network traffic. The communication channel may be employed to provide investigative agents to the users. Investigative information may be collected from the investigative agents over the communication channel. The inference engine may provide a risk value that is associated with the anomalies based on the investigative information.

Correlating causes and effects associated with network activity

US Patent 10,411,978
September 10, 2019
Embodiments are directed to monitoring network traffic using a monitoring engine that monitors network traffic in networks to provide metrics. An inference engine may provide activity profiles based on portions of the network traffic where each activity profile includes features associated with the portions of network traffic. The inference engine may determine other activity profiles correlated with the activity profiles based on correlation models such that the determination of the other activity profiles occurs prior to monitoring an occurrence of other portions of the network traffic. The inference engine may modify monitoring actions of the monitoring engine based on the other activity profiles. The inference engine may provide reports based on the portions of the network traffic, the activity profiles, the other portions of the network traffic, or the other activity profiles.

Systems and methods for sharing network information

US Patent 10,411,968
September 10, 2019
Techniques for sharing network information, such as routing table information, are described. In some examples, network nodes share information about the topology of their network. For example, nodes may share routing tables with their neighbors from time to time. To improve the performance of the network, by reducing the overhead of transmitting routing tables, the nodes share their routing tables with neighbor nodes only when those tables are updated or upon request. In other circumstances, such as when a routing table has not changed since it was last shared, each network node instead transmits an indicator, such as a routing table checksum, hash, or the like, that can be used by a neighbor node to determine the routing table is u

Reducing payload size of machine-readable data blocks in shipment preparation packing lists

US Patent 10,410,163
September 10, 2019
Example embodiments provide a Shipment Preparation System ("SPS"), which facilitates the preparation of shipments, such as by producing shipping labels. In one embodiment, the SPS is configured to receive shipment preparation information from a bar code or other machine-readable data block in a packing list. The shipment preparation information identifies a uniform resource identifier ("URI") that identifies a code module that is remote from the SPS. The SPS determines the URI based on the shipment preparation information, such as by performing a local lookup or requesting the URI from a URI shortening service. The SPS then uses the URI to communicate with the code module in order to obtain information for the preparation of the shipment (e.g., obtaining a destination shipping address) and/or for transmission of information about the preparation of the shipment (e.g., posting an indication that a shipment is ready for pick up).

User health management for mobile devices

US Patent 10,410,159
September 10, 2019
Embodiments are directed towards embodiments for monitoring or predicting user health with respect their use of connected computers, such as, mobile phones, tablets, or the like. Activities associated with a user and a computing device may be monitored to determine activity events. One or more sub-scores may be provided in real time based on metrics provided as input to sub-score models such that the metrics are associated with the activity events. A health score associated with a probability of an occurrence of adverse user outcomes may be provided based on a health model that uses the sub-scores. An analysis engine may compare the health score to other health scores to predict in real time the adverse outcomes. The analysis engine may recommend one or more actions to decrease the probability of the occurrence of the adverse outcomes based on the result.
