Methods and systems for supporting the production of shipping labels
US Patent 8,818,912
August 26, 2014
Methods and systems for supporting the production of shipping labels are provided. Example embodiments provide a Shipment Management System (“SMS”), which facilitates the production of shipping labels. The SMS may be configured to generate a shipping uniform resource identifier (“URI”) that identifies a shipping protocol and includes shipment information and post-back information. The shipping URI may be provided to a shipping label module configured to produce a shipping label in accordance with the shipping protocol by outputting a shipping label based on the shipment information, and automatically posting information about the producing of the shipping label to a code module identified by the post-back information. This abstract is provided to comply with rules requiring an abstract, and it is submitted with the intention that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.
Electronic control unit limiter with coded release
US Patent 8,818,570
August 26, 2014
An electronic control unit (“ECU”) limiter is disclosed. The ECU can include a vehicle-mounted component configured to measure and interact with components of the vehicle such as the engine, the transmission, etc, and a remote component configured to communicate with the vehicle-mounted component and vice versa. The vehicle-mounted component can be programmed to permit the vehicle to operate substantially without limitation until a certain parameter threshold is met, such as the engine usage reaching a certain predetermined quantity. The vehicle-mounted component can limit the engine in a variety of ways when the parameter threshold is met. The remote component can receive information from the vehicle-mounted component regarding the monitored parameters and the limitations caused by the vehicle-mounted component.
Systems and methods for making and using enhanced electrodes for electrical stimulation systems
US Patent 8,818,527
August 26, 2014
A lead assembly for providing electrical stimulation of patient tissue includes at least one elongated lead body, each of the at least one lead bodies having a distal end and a proximal end. A plurality of electrodes are disposed at the distal end of the at least one lead body, each of the electrodes having an outer surface. A plurality of dimples are defined along the outer surface of at least one of the plurality of electrodes, the plurality of dimples configured and arranged to provide a larger surface area for the at least one dimpled electrode than that of a similarly-sized electrode with a flat outer surface. A plurality of terminal are disposed at the proximal end of the at least one lead body. A plurality of conductive wires couple each of the plurality of electrodes to at least one of the plurality of terminals.
Methods of making a paddle lead with a carrier and leads and systems formed thereby
US Patent 8,818,483
August 26, 2014
A method of making an electrical stimulation lead includes coupling electrodes to a carrier. The carrier defines at least one set of perforations. The method further includes coupling the electrodes to conductors; forming a flexible paddle sheath over the carrier leaving a stimulation surface of each of the plurality of electrodes exposed; and, after forming the flexible paddle sheath, breaking the carrier along at least one of the at least one set of perforations.
Systems and methods for altering one or more RF-response properties of electrical stimulation system
US Patent 8,818,526
August 26, 2014
An implantable lead includes a lead body and at least one safety element. The lead body has a distal end and a proximal end. The lead body defines at least one lumen extending along at least a portion of the lead body. The lead body includes a plurality of electrodes disposed on the distal end of the lead body, a plurality of terminals disposed on the proximal end of the lead body, and a plurality of conductors disposed in the lead body, each conductor electrically coupling at least one of the electrodes to at least one of the terminals. The at least one safety element is disposed along at least a portion of the lead body and is configured and arranged to reduce damage to patient tissue adjacent to the plurality of electrodes due to heating, induced electrical signals, or both when the lead is exposed to radio frequency irradiation.
Gate depletion drain extended MOS transistor
US Patent 8,816,441
August 26, 2014
A drain extended MOS transistor configured to operate in a gate-depletion regime. Devices comprising such transistors are described together with fabrication processes for such devices and transistors.
Low profile intravascular ultrasound catheter
US Patent 8,814,799
August 26, 2014
The present invention provides low profile intravascular ultrasound catheters adapted to access sites within the patient’s body through narrow blood vessels, e.g., the radial artery. In an embodiment, a low profile catheter comprises an catheter sheath, a short guidewire receiver attached to the distal end of the catheter sheath, and a telescope assembly at the proximal end. The catheter sheath comprises a main portion and a tapered portion for increased flexibility toward the distal end of the catheter. In one embodiment, a rotatable and translatable imaging core is received within the catheter sheath for ultrasound imaging. A short guidewire receiver is used to allow the imaging core to be advanced farther distally with respect to the distal end of the catheter. In an embodiment, the catheter sheath extends through a portion of the telescope assembly to provide enhanced support of the imaging core within the telescope assembly.

Pepper corer set
US Patent 8,813,365
August 26, 2014
A pepper corer set includes two separate pepper corers, each one of which is configured to remove a different sized core from a different sized pepper. A first pepper corer is configured to remove a stem and facilitate removal of the core from a relatively large variety of pepper such as a bell pepper, while a second pepper corer is sized to remove a stem and facilitate removal of the core from a smaller pepper, such as a jalapeno pepper.
Helmet with flush aligned shield when closed
US Patent 8,813,270
August 26, 2014
A safety helmet includes a shield movable relative to a shell from an open to a closed position, and vice-versa through operation of a shield actuation system. When in the closed position, the shield actuation system permits the shield to be aligned substantially flush with the shell. Further, the shield actuation system allows the shield to be opened through a manual process that includes pushing on a lever or button to initially release the shield and then rotate the shield into the open position. The shield actuation system includes a number of plates with at least two of the plates in kinematic cooperation for allowing the shield to pop out and then rotate relative to the shell.
