Method and system for forwarding messages received at a traffic manager

US Patent 8,874,783
October 28, 2014
A method and system for forwarding messages received at a traffic manager. A traffic manager receives a message from a first connection to a client computer. At least a part of the message is to be forwarded to a server. If a connection exists to the server that matches the first connection, at least a part of the message is forwarded to the server by employing the existing connection. Otherwise, a source address is selected with which to communicate with the server. A new connection that includes the source address and a destination address associated with the server is opened. In addition, information associating the source address and the destination address with the first connection is stored. This information may then be used to map a response received from the server to the first connection.

Systems and methods for making and using electrical stimulation systems with improved RF compatibili

US Patent 8,874,206
October 28, 2014
An implantable control module for an electrical stimulation system includes an electronic subassembly disposed in a casing. A sealed feedthrough housing is disposed along a portion of the casing. An electrically-conductive portion of the feedthrough housing is electrically coupled to an electrically-conductive portion of the casing. Feedthrough pins extend through the feedthrough housing and couple to the electronic subassembly via conductive pathways disposed in the casing. At least a portion of the conductive pathways extend along a non-conductive substrate. An RF-diverting assembly is disposed in the casing. The RF-diverting assembly includes a feedthrough ground electrically coupled to the electrically-conductive portion of the feedthrough housing. The RF-diverting assembly also includes a plurality of capacitive elements each coupling a different one of the plurality of conductive pathways to the feedthrough ground.

Collapsible colander and bowl

US Patent 8,871,092
October 28, 2014
A collapsible container consists of three parts: a rigid top rim, a flexible center band, and a rigid base. This combination of sections allows the container to easily collapse to about one-third of its original height. The container is also quite stable when expanded and is self-supporting. In various embodiments of the invention, for example, the upper rim may be expandable, the base may include holes or mesh to serve as a colander or strainer, or the base may be configured as a tube to function as a funnel.

System and method for estimating round-trip time in telecommunication networks

US Patent 8,873,416
October 28, 2014
A method for estimating round-trip time (RTT) values for data packets travelling in a telecommunication network is disclosed. During a first time interval (206) which begins with the start of a data transmission, estimated RTT values (14) are generated by filtering a periodic sequence of RTT samples (12) with a self-initializing expanding memory polynomial (EMP) filter (16) and, after a first switch-over time at the end of the first time interval, the estimated RTT values are generated by filtering the RTT samples with a fading memory polynomial (FMP) filter (18). The first switch-over time is determined by comparing an FMP estimation error and an EMP estimation error, where the FMP estimation error is the difference between an output of the FMP filter and the RTT samples, and the EMP estimation error is the difference between an output of the EMP filter and the RTT samples, and triggering the first switch-over time when the FMP estimation error becomes equal to or less than the EMP estimation error.

Total hypervisor encryptor

US Patent 8,868,908
October 21, 2014
Embodiments are directed towards providing cryptographic services to protect guest operating system (OS) images in virtualized computing environments. A hypervisor may trap privileged operations initiated by guest OS images. These trapped operations may be intercepted by a cryptographic module. A hypervisor may trap a write operation made by a guest OS image, and cryptographic module may encrypt the write buffer and return it the hypervisor. A hypervisor may trap a read operation made by a guest OS image, and provide the encrypted data to the cryptographic module for decrypting. If the data is decrypted, the cryptographic module may provide the decrypted data to the hypervisor which provides the decrypted data to the guest OS image. Also, guest OS image context information may be decrypted and encrypted as the guest OS image is scheduled and de-scheduled on physical CPU(s). Further, if necessary entire guest OS images may be encrypted.
