The plurality of conductors includes a first conductor and a second conductor. The first conductor includes a plurality of alternating first and second coiled regions. The first coiled regions have tighter pitches than the second coiled regions. The second conductor includes a plurality of alternating third and fourth coiled regions. The third coiled regions have tighter pitches than the fourth coiled regions. The plurality of conductors are arranged into repeating adjacent winding geometries disposed along a longitudinal length of the lead body. The repeating adjacent winding geometries each include one of the plurality of first coiled regions and one of the plurality of third coiled regions axially disposed adjacent to one another.
Session pooling for legacy application tasks
US Patent 8,903,898
December 2, 2014
Methods, systems, and techniques for handling session emulation for running legacy applications/tasks in host environments using session pools are provided. These enhanced session emulation techniques may be used for many applications, including modernizing legacy applications, particularly in mid-range or mainframe host computing. Example embodiments provide a Role-Based Modernization System (“RBMS”), which uses the enhanced emulation techniques to provide role-based modernization of menu-based legacy applications.
Content and identity delivery system for portable playback of content and streaming service
US Patent 8,898,803
November 25, 2014
A disclosed system, method and computer readable storage medium includes downloading digital media content from a kiosk to a flash media or other secured portable memory or drive. User service information is also downloaded from the kiosk to the flash media that identifies a streaming service from which the user may also receive content. When the flash media is connected to a playback device, if the device is not connected to a network, the content is played back from the flash media. If the playback device is connected to a network, the streaming service is accessed using the user service information, and the streaming service streams the content to the playback device. In one implementation, the streamed content is of a higher quality (e.g., a high definition version) of the content that was downloaded to the flash media from the kiosk.

Location-aware distributed sporting events
US Patent 8,897,903
November 25, 2014
Various embodiments facilitate location-aware distributed competitions. In one embodiment, a system facilitates a distributed sporting event that includes multiple players traveling over courses that are remote from one another. The system includes a manager that receives state information, such as location information, from client devices used by each of the players. The manager then transmits location information for each of the players to the client devices, which are each configured to present a graphical representation, such as a map annotated with the locations of each of the players. The manager asserts a course to each of the players, by providing specific instructions to travel along a particular path. The client devices provide the players with the appearance of competing over the same course, even though they are all actually competing over courses remote from one another.

Leads with electrode carrier for segmented electrodes
US Patent 8,897,891
November 25, 2014
A stimulation lead includes a lead body having a longitudinal length, a distal portion, and a proximal portion; terminals disposed along the proximal portion of the lead body; an electrode carrier coupled to, or disposed along, the distal portion of the lead body; segmented electrodes disposed along the electrode carrier; and conductors extending along the lead body and coupling the segmented electrodes to the terminals. The electrode carrier includes a lattice region defining segmented electrode receiving openings. Each of the segmented electrodes extends around no more than 75% of a circumference of the lead and is disposed in a different one of the segmented electrode receiving openings of the electrode carrier.
Systems and methods for providing electrical stimulation of multiple dorsal root ganglia
US Patent 8,897,893
November 25, 2014
A method for implanting an electrical stimulation lead into a patient includes advancing a distal end of a multi-armed lead into an epidural space of the patient. The multi-armed lead includes first and second stimulation arms extending from a main body portion. The first stimulation arm is guided into and through a first intervertebral foramen. The first stimulation arm is positioned in proximity to a first dorsal root ganglion. The first stimulation aim is positioned with electrodes disposed along the first stimulation arm in operational proximity to the first dorsal root ganglion. The second stimulation arm is guided into and through a second intervertebral foramen. The second stimulation arm is positioned in proximity to a second dorsal root ganglion. The second stimulation arm is positioned with electrodes disposed along the second stimulation arm in operational proximity to the second dorsal root ganglion.
Electrode design for leads of implantable electric stimulation systems
US Patent 8,897,889
November 25, 2014
