A portable music player for the playback of a digital audio file comprises a memory for storing a plurality of digital audio files; an audio output; a control for setting a desired change in pitch or tempo; and a digital signal processor configured to process a digital audio file and recover an audio signal therefrom, perceptibly alter one of the pitch and the tempo of the audio signal in response to the desired change in pitch or tempo without perceptibly altering the other of the pitch and tempo, and output the altered audio signal to the audio output.
Trigger based recording of flows with play back
US Patent 8,867,343
October 21, 2014
The various embodiments provide selective real-time monitoring of one or more flows of packets over a network, real-time buffering of packets for the one or more monitored flows, real-time recording of packets for one or more monitored flows and its corresponding buffered packets based on initiation of at least one trigger, and real-time analysis of the one or more recorded flows of packets regarding at least the occurrence of the at least one trigger. One or more flows of packets may be selected for monitoring by an administrator or an automated process based on different factors. In at least one of the various embodiments, the one or more monitored flows of packets are tagged and threaded so that they are separately accessible in a ring buffer.
Device and method for suspension of a vehicle seat by means of additional volumes
US Patent 8,864,145
October 21, 2014
A device and method for suspension of a vehicle seat by means of additional volumes, in particular a utility vehicle seat, comprising at least one air spring for height adjustment of a seat part of said air spring being arranged between the seat part and a lower part, and a control device for controlling the supply and discharge of at least one additional volume to or from the air spring, wherein, at predefinable speed or acceleration values of a spring movement of the air spring, the additional volume which can be supplied or discharged can be switched on or off by means of the control device in such a way that, in end-of-travel regions of the air spring, the profile of a force/travel air spring characteristic during an extension and/or return spring movement of the air spring does not exhibit any incline in a first and in a second range.
Egg slicer
US Patent 8,863,391
October 21, 2014
An egg slicer includes a base having a plurality of ribs for supporting a food item to be sliced. The cutting element formed with a frame and one or more blades extending across the frame may be pressed downward such that it slices through the food item and the one or more blades are received within channels formed between the ribs. Openings formed between sidewalls of the base serve as guides to ensure an axial path of travel of the cutting element. Several different arrangements of channels between the ribs allows for the accommodation of several corresponding different arrangements of blades.
Methods for making leads with segmented electrodes for electrical stimulation systems
US Patent 8,862,242
October 14, 2014
One embodiment is a method of making a stimulation lead that includes providing a pre-electrode assembly comprising a plurality of segmented electrodes and a plurality of raised connectors. Each of the segmented electrodes is coupled to at least one other of the segmented electrodes by at least one of the raised connectors. The method further includes forming the pre-electrode assembly into a tube with the tube defining a longitudinal axis. Each of the raised connectors is disposed at a radius with respect to the longitudinal axis that is greater than a radius of any of the segmented electrodes with respect to the longitudinal axis. The method also includes forming at least a portion of a lead body around the segmented electrodes of the pre-electrode assembly; and grinding the tube comprising the pre-electrode assembly and portion of the lead body to remove the plurality of raised connectors leaving the plurality of segmented electrodes and the portion of the lead body.
Protocol link layer
US Patent 8,861,393
October 14, 2014
A link is a software abstraction that represents a direct connection between two CoCo nodes. The link layer detects the presence of neighboring devices and establishes links to them. A protocol abstraction layer converts data frames that arrive on network interfaces into packet objects used by the COCO Protocol Suite.
