Alternative state flow valve
US Patent 8,752,582
June 17, 2014
An improved sequencing fluid control valve comprising a housing having inlet and outlet ports, a valve seat disposed within the housing, a collapsible valve member disposed within the housing and forming a chamber and a bulb. A sequencing means disposed within the chamber that controls the axial motion of the valve member in response to application of fluid pressure at the inlet such that the motion of valve member alternates between an open free flowing state and a closed restricted flow state. Housing and valve member cooperate in the open position to provide an annular flow path that does not require the fluid flow direction to substantially change while flowing from inlet to outlet. Housing and valve member bulb cooperate in the closed position to form a circumferential seal to restrict the fluid flow. Alternative embodiments including viscous damping means and variations on the housing mount are described.

US Patent 8,751,016
June 10, 2014
A nerve stimulation lead has a distal end, a proximal end, and a longitudinal length. The nerve stimulation lead includes a plurality of electrodes disposed at the distal end, a plurality of terminals disposed at the proximal end, and a plurality of conductive wires electrically coupling the plurality of electrodes electrically to the plurality of terminals. The nerve stimulation lead also includes at least one anchoring unit disposed on the nerve stimulation lead. The at least one anchoring unit is configured and arranged for anchoring the nerve stimulation lead against a bony structure.
Methods, devices and systems for encoding graphical primitives
US Patent 8,749,813
June 10, 2014
Encoding a graphical element for processing can utilize an edge pair format in which the graphical element is divided into multiple objects, where each object contains exactly two edges which do not cross or self-intersect. Another format is a run-length encoding (RLE) format in which the graphical element is divided into multiple lines, where the RLE format includes an X start position, a Y start position, a length of a first of the lines, and, for each subsequent line, indications of right and left edge steps relative to the immediately proceeding line.
Automotive supplementary sun visor
US Patent 8,746,775
June 10, 2014
An automotive supplementary sun visor to shield a windshield portion around a rearview mirror between the right and left sun visors using a slit from an upper side edge of the shade plate body toward a center portion and structuring the shade plate body detachable in an attaching support shaft portion of a rearview mirror by the slit and its own flexibility. The present invention does not require a design change to an existing sun visor or rearview mirror within a passenger room or a specification change of a body construction of a motor vehicle, can be attached to a support shaft portion of the existing rearview mirror by utilizing the flexibility of the shade plate itself, and securely dims or blocks sunlight from a periphery of the rearview mirror not otherwise accounted for by existing sun visors.
Wallet-sized stand for mobile telephone
US Patent 8,746,638
June 10, 2014
A stand for engaging support of a smart mobile telephone includes a base plate formed of planar thermoplastic polymer generally rectangular in shape having a midline axis and a first and second extreme edges in opposed relationship, parallel and spaced apart from the midline axis. A first and a second flex plate formed of the planar thermoplastic polymer and include an attachment region extending from an extreme edge and to a first root edge and is fused to base plate in a manner to bias the first flex plate toward the base plate. A generally rectangular limb extends beyond the root edge to a living hinge affixed to a generally rectangular first riser defining at least one first tab being configured to engage the registration slot when the first riser is rotated to an attitude perpendicular to the base plate.
Virtual secure digital card
US Patent 8,745,749
June 3, 2014
A system (and a method) are disclosed for generating a virtual secure digital (SD) card. One embodiment detects an SD card and reads a media key block and media identification for the SD card. The system stores the media key block and the media identification. The system creates a file system for secure data on a storage device for storage of secure data corresponding to a secure data area of the SD card and creates a file system for user data on the storage device for storage of user data corresponding to a user data area of the SD card. In addition, the system uses the virtual secure digital (SD) card. The system determines if the virtual SD card is provisioned and provisions it if not. The system accesses the data stored in the secure area of the provisioned virtual SD card. The system extracts the data from the secured area of the provisioned virtual SD card.

US Patent Method and device for operating a television located in a premises to simulate occupation of the pre
June 3, 2014
An electronic device operates a television located in a premises to simulate occupation of the premises, and thereby deter intrusion. The electronic device is caused to operate automatically, without any input from a user, and activates the television at different times according to a predetermined schedule not set by the user. During automatic operation, the television is caused not only to present television programming, but also to present visual and sound effects simulating human activity, whereby occupation of the premises is simulated.
Systems and methods for auditing authorization of a service using displayed watermarks
US Patent 8,745,651
June 3, 2014
Auditing systems and methods detect access authorization of a media device for a service during an audit. An exemplary embodiment receives an audit trigger at a media device communicating the service to a media presentation device, determines whether the media device is authorized to communicate the service to the media presentation device, and communicates a security watermark from the media device to the media presentation device. The security watermark is displayed on a display of the media presentation device and indicates authorization to access the service to an auditor performing the audit.
