McIntyre , et al. June 18, 2019 Method and device for displaying predicted volume of influence
US Patent 10,322,285
June 18, 2019
This document discusses, among other things, brain stimulation models, systems, devices, and methods, such as for deep brain stimulation (DBS) or other electrical stimulation. In an example, volumetric imaging data representing an anatomical volume of a brain of a patient can be obtained and transformed to brain atlas data. A patient-specific brain atlas can be created using the inverse of the transformation to map the brain atlas data onto the volumetric imaging data and a volume of influence can be calculated using the patient-specific brain atlas. In certain examples, the volume of influence can include a predicted volume of tissue affected by an electrical stimulation delivered by an electrode at a corresponding at least one candidate electrode target location.
System, method, and apparatus for regulating flow rate in an espresso machine
US Patent 10,321,783
June 18, 2019
Embodiments are directed towards regulating flow rate in an espresso machine, during a multi-phase brewing process which includes a pre-brew and an extraction phase. During the pre-brew phase, coffee grounds are slowly pre-wetted and/or out-gassed with a first volume of water delivered at a first flow rate. During the extraction phase, a second volume of water is delivered, at a second flow rate, to extract espresso, where the second volume is delivered at a generally greater pressure than the first volume. The second flow rate is greater than the first flow rate. The flow rates, volumes, and pressures are regulated by the espresso machine, which includes a flow rate regulation assembly that comprises first and second flow paths and first and second valves. Baristas may vary the flow rate, volume, and pressure of water throughout the brewing process by opening, closing, or otherwise adjusting at least one of the valves.
Large volume video data transfer over limited capacity bus
US Patent 10,321,109
June 11, 2019
Methods, systems, and techniques for projecting streamed video are provided. Example Enhanced Video Systems provide support for streaming high resolution video in limited bandwidth hardware environments. In one example, an Enhanced Video System comprises a real time, interactive rendering system, a display system, and one or more display units. The rendering system comprises a high resolution graphics engine (e.g., a VR/AR gaming engine) capable of generating high resolution video and two graphics computation units. The projection system comprises two video capture cards to capture the generated video stream and forward the captured video stream to a projection mapping engine. Projection mapping engine consolidates and stitches together the received video stream as appropriate to render the video stream over display units to the target viewing environment such as a dome/sphere. In the example described, an 8K resolution video is streamed and projected despite bandwidth limitations of current video capture card technology.
Methods and systems for supporting the production of shipping labels
US Patent 10,318,913
June 11, 2019
Methods and systems for supporting the production of shipping labels are provided. Example embodiments provide a Shipment Management System ("SMS"), which facilitates the production of shipping labels. The SMS may be configured to generate a shipping uniform resource identifier ("URI") that identifies a shipping protocol and includes shipment information and post-back information. The shipping URI may be provided to a shipping label module configured to produce a shipping label in accordance with the shipping protocol by outputting a shipping label based on the shipment information, and automatically posting information about the producing of the shipping label to a code module identified by the post-back information. This abstract is provided to comply with rules requiring an abstract, and it is submitted with the intention that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.
Analyzing and visualizing trends in the use and consumption of data in a shared storage system
US Patent 10,318,494
June 11, 2019
A facility comprising methods and systems for analyzing and visualizing trends in the usage of data within a shared storage filesystem is disclosed. The facility analyzes the rate at which the filesystem or a portion thereof is used by periodically generating manifests of the usage of the filesystem and comparing one manifest to another manifest. Furthermore, the facility may store additional information relevant to the manifest, such as the time at which the manifest was taken; for each directory, the sum of all of the values determined for items in that directory (including any subdirectories); and so on. In this manner, the facility collects and stores information relevant to developing trend information for each item in the filesystem. The trends analysis and visualizations described herein provide quick insight into the changes deemed most interesting or significant between two times.
Triggering the increased collection and distribution of monitoring information in a distributed processing system
US Patent 10,318,401
June 11, 2019
AbstractA facility comprising systems and method for automatically triggering the collection of comprehensive monitoring information in a distributed processing system. The facility compares the overall performance of distributed processing system to one or more performance metrics and, in response to determining that one or more performance metrics is not satisfied, triggers one or more of the nodes within the distributed processing system to increase one or more of its monitoring rate or its distribution rate. The facility collects and analyzes the collected information to provide resources that can be used to assess and diagnose failures within the distributed processing system. In this manner, the facility reacts to performance anomalies by triggering nodes within in the system to provide comprehensive performance information over a trigger period for diagnostic purposes.
Phytochemical extraction systems, methods, and devices
US Patent 10,315,130
June 11, 2019
This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices for phytochemical extraction. One example extraction system includes two solvent columns, a material column, and a dewaxing column. The solvent columns store and provide solvent for stripping target chemicals from plant material in the material column. The solvent mixed with target chemicals passes into the dewaxing column, where the target chemicals are separated from waxes and lipids. Cooling is applied to elements of the system by way of an open-loop CO2 refrigeration method. Solvent is moved from the solvent columns to the material column by creating a pressure differential between the two solvent columns.
Generation of superheated steam for the preparation of a beverage
US Patent 10,314,425
June 11, 2019
Assemblies, machines, systems, and methods for the generation of superheated are discussed A steam super-heat assembly is employed for generating superheated steam for the preparation of coffee-based beverages. The assembly includes a body that includes an internal cavity, a heating element that includes heating surfaces positioned within the internal cavity, and a flow path within the internal cavity. The body also includes an input that enables fluid access into the internal cavity and an output that enables fluid egress out of the internal cavity. The heating element heats the heating surfaces of the heating element. The flow path enables fluid to flow from the input, through the internal cavity of the body, and to the output of the body. The heating surfaces form a portion of the flow path. When the fluid flows through the internal cavity, the fluid is in direct physical contact with the heating surfaces.
Internet canine communication device and method
US Patent 10,314,288
June 11, 2019
Enhanced methods and systems for human-pet communication are described. Example embodiments provide an Internet Canine Communication System (“ICCS”). The ICCS facilitates remote communication and interaction with between a dog and its owner, caretaker, trainer, family member, or the like. The ICCS may include a base station or similar device that is configured to deliver treats to a dog and to transmit audio/visual communication between the dog and a remote client device operated by a human user. The ICCS may also facilitate training the dog to utilize the ICCS to communicate with the user, such as by answering calls from or initiating calls to the remote client device of the user.

Voice messaging and calling system for inmates
US Patent 10,313,518
June 4, 2019
Disclosed is a voice messaging and calling system for inmates and their friends and family (collectively referred to as "outsiders"). It extends existing inmate telephone systems ("ITS") without requiring any additional installation within correctional facilities or modifications to the existing ITS. An existing ITS provides functional restrictions, security restrictions and privacy limitations. The described system enhances the existing ITS to reduce the functional restrictions by adding the ability to leave voicemail messages when outsiders are unavailable and return calls to, or leave messages for, multiple outsiders in a single call. An additional enhancement allows outsiders to leave messages for the inmate at any time, which the inmate can listen to later. The security restrictions and privacy limitations are unaffected and left in place. The described system also reduces costs for inmates by allowing them to leave messages for and return calls to, multiple outsiders in a single call.
