Off-highway recreational vehicle

US Patent 9,771,112
September 26, 2017
A recreational off-highway vehicle includes side-by-side passenger and driver seats held within a chassis that is approximately 50 inches wide. The seats sit low in the chassis and are covered by a roll cage. Grab handles are positioned on the sides of the passenger seat. Select large round tubing protects the vehicle, while rectangular tubing frames the portions of the vehicle beneath body panels. The vehicle is powered by an engine rearward of the seats that is connected to a transaxle. The engine and transaxle are isolation mounted together with a portion of the air intake assembly. The vehicle is suited for rough terrain travel.

Systems and methods for making and using improved connector contacts for electrical stimulation systems

US Patent 9,770,598
September 26, 2017
A connector for an implantable electrical medical device includes a connector lumen defined in an elongated connector housing and adapted for receiving a portion of a lead. Connector-contact assemblies are disposed in the connector lumen and adapted to couple to terminals of the lead when the lead is received by the connector lumen. Each of the connector-contact assemblies includes a contact body. An inner surface of the contact body defines an open center portion. A first base is disposed along a first end of the contact body, and a second base is disposed along an opposing second end of the contact body and is coupled to the first base. Biasing members are attached to the first base and extend towards the second base. The biasing members are not attached to the second base. When the lead is received by the connector lumen the biasing members physically contact the received lead.

Converting between rotary and linear motion, and a sawing device

US Patent 9,764,400
September 19, 2017
Apparatus for converting between rotary motion and linear motion includes a rotatable piece being rotatable about an axis; at least one member having a linking surface facing the rotatable piece and arranged for movement relative to the axis of the piece; and a means for linking the linking surface of the respective member and the surface of the rotatable piece, so that rotational motion of the rotatable piece causes linear movement of the at least one member, and/or linear movement of the at least one member causes rotational motion of the rotatable piece. A sawing device may include said apparatus for cutting by repetitive reciprocating cutting action. A saw blade may be configured for such a sawing device.

Systems and methods for making and using improved connector contacts for electrical stimulation systems

US Patent 9,764,149
September 19, 2017
A connector for an implantable electrical medical device includes a connector lumen defined in an elongated connector housing and adapted for receiving a portion of a lead. Connector-contact assemblies are disposed in the connector lumen. Each of the connector-contact assemblies includes a contact housing. Multiple connector contacts are arranged along perimeters of inner surfaces of the contact housings such that the connector contacts are not in electrical contact with one another. Each of the connector contacts includes a biasing structure that physically contacts terminals disposed along the lead when the lead is received by the connector lumen. For each connector contact of a particular connector-contact assembly, the biasing structure extends around no more than 70% of the perimeter of the inner surface of the contact housing and is circumferentially-offset from the biasing structures of the remaining connector contacts of the connector-contact assembly.

Data flow segment optimized for hot flows

US Patent 9,762,492
September 19, 2017
Embodiments are directed towards improving the performance of network traffic management devices by optimizing the management of hot connection flows. A packet traffic management device ("PTMD") may employ a data flow segment ("DFS") and control segment ("CS"). The CS may perform high-level control functions and per-flow policy enforcement for connection flows maintained at the DFS, while the DFS may perform statistics gathering, per-packet policy enforcement (e.g., packet address translations), or the like, on connection flows maintained at the DFS. The DFS may include high-speed flow caches and other high-speed components that may be comprised of high-performance computer memory. Making efficient use of the high speed flow cache capacity may be improved by maximizing the number of hot connection flows and minimizing the number of malicious and/or in-operative connections flows (e.g., non-genuine flows) that may have flow control data stored in the high-speed flow cache.

Method and device for displaying predicted volume of influence

US Patent 9.760,688
September 12, 2017
This document discusses, among other things, brain stimulation models, systems, devices, and methods, such as for deep brain stimulation (DBS) or other electrical stimulation. In an example, volumetric imaging data representing an anatomical volume of a brain of a patient can be obtained and transformed to brain atlas data. A patient-specific brain atlas can be created using the inverse of the transformation to map the brain atlas data onto the volumetric imaging data and a volume of influence can be calculated using the patient-specific brain atlas. In certain examples, the volume of influence can include a predicted volume of tissue affected by an electrical stimulation delivered by an electrode at a corresponding at least one candidate electrode target location.

Multiple searcher use of search result snapshot histories

US Patent 9,760,586
September 12, 2017
Methods, systems, and techniques for managing and using search result snapshot histories are provided. Some examples provide a Search Snapshot Management Engine ("SSME"), which enables users and or programs through the use of an application programming interface ("API") to define and manipulate search result snapshots. In typical operation, an iteration of a search result is associated with a search result snapshot history. In some examples, the SSME may be used to provide search histories to teams for reviewing patent related publications and other types of literature. In some examples, the SSME promotes cooperative sharing of search result snapshot histories. In other examples, the SSME promotes competitive sharing of search result snapshot histories. One or more designated snapshots may be used to create new or merged search result snapshot histories.

Post assembly

US Patent 9,758,936
September 12, 2017
A post assembly for absorbing impact from a vehicle including a footing, an upright post and a hinge region to allow the post to plastically deform relative to the footing. The post is preferably fixed to a lever arm that is connected to the footing via the hinge region, the lever arm and post pivoting away from the footing under load, The lever arm, footing and hinge region are preferably formed from a common base plate. The invention also relates to barrier system that includes multiple post assemblies, and a barrier supported between respective posts of the assemblies.

Elevator pad hanging apparatus and method

US Patent 9,758,350
September 12, 2017
A system for protecting an elevator including a plurality of wall panels. The system includes a first plurality of hangers each having a suspension portion and a hanger portion. A protective sheet having a plurality of holes along an edge thereof is fastened to the suspension portions by a plurality of snap fasteners inserted through both the aperture of a hanger and a hole of the plurality of holes. The hanger portion engages an upper edge portion of a wall panel of the plurality of wall panels. In some uses, the protective sheet is positioned between the suspension portion and the wall panel of the plurality of wall panels. The hanger portion may be embodied as a hook and the snap fasteners may be embodied as plastic rivets.

Disparity correction for location-aware distributed sporting events

US Patent 9,757,639
September 12, 2017

Various embodiments facilitate location-aware distributed competitions. In one embodiment, a system facilitates a distributed sporting event that includes multiple players traveling over non-uniform courses that are remote from one another. The system includes a manager that receives state information, such as location information, from client devices used by each of the players. The manager then transmits location information for each of the players to the client devices, which are each configured to present a graphical representation, such as a map annotated with the locations of each of the players. The system corrects for disparities between the non-uniform courses traveled by the players, for example by mapping a location on a course traveled by a first player to a location on a course traveled by a second player. Various mechanisms for establishing the mapping between non-uniform courses are also described.
