Voice messaging and calling system for inmates
US Patent 10,313,518
June 4, 2019
Disclosed is a voice messaging and calling system for inmates and their friends and family (collectively referred to as "outsiders"). It extends existing inmate telephone systems ("ITS") without requiring any additional installation within correctional facilities or modifications to the existing ITS. An existing ITS provides functional restrictions, security restrictions and privacy limitations. The described system enhances the existing ITS to reduce the functional restrictions by adding the ability to leave voicemail messages when outsiders are unavailable and return calls to, or leave messages for, multiple outsiders in a single call. An additional enhancement allows outsiders to leave messages for the inmate at any time, which the inmate can listen to later. The security restrictions and privacy limitations are unaffected and left in place. The described system also reduces costs for inmates by allowing them to leave messages for and return calls to, multiple outsiders in a single call.
Modernization of legacy applications using dynamic icons
US Patent 10,310,835
June 4, 2019
Methods, systems, and techniques for automatically allocating and dynamically determining icons for placement on legacy task output as part of modernizing such tasks are provided. These enhanced modernization techniques may be used for many different applications to automatically provide graphical enhancement to legacy applications in ways heretofore not pragmatically possible because of the sheer volume of menus in typical enterprise scenarios running legacy applications. Example embodiments provide a Role-Based Modernization System ("RBMS"), which uses these enhanced modernization techniques to provide role-based modernization of menu-based legacy applications.
Threaded connector assembly and methods of making and using the same
US Patent 10,307,602
June 4, 2019
A connector assembly includes a lead with a lead body having proximal and distal portions. The lead body defines a longitudinal axis. Terminals are disposed along the proximal portion and a proximal tip is attached thereto. The proximal tip defines an aperture that is non-parallel to the longitudinal axis. The connector assembly further includes a connector having a connector body, a connector lumen, and connector contacts disposed within the connector body. The connector body includes a fastener aperture proximal to all of the connector contacts and intersecting the connector lumen. The fastener aperture and the aperture of the proximal tip align when the proximal portion is fully received within the connector lumen. At least one of the apertures includes internal threading. The connector assembly also includes a threaded fastener for insertion into the apertures to secure the lead to the connector.
System and method for securing an implant to tissue
US Patent 10,299,783
May 28, 2019
A system and method for securing a medical implant within a patient. The method includes disposing an anchor element around the implant, the anchor element including a pair of tabs each including an eyelet, and a flexible intermediate portion between the tabs, wherein disposing the anchor element around the implant includes positioning the implant within the intermediate portion and folding the anchor element such that the tabs contact one another and the eyelets aligned. The anchor element is positioned at a desired implantation position with the tabs positioned proximate soft tissue of the patient. The method further includes inserting a distal tip of a fixation element delivery tool through the eyelets and into the soft tissue, the fixation element including at least one tissue anchor and an adjustable suture arrangement coupled to the tissue anchor. The at least one tissue anchor is deployed from the delivery tool and into the soft tissue of the patient. The delivery tool is withdrawn from the soft tissue and the eyelets of the anchor element, and the adjustable suture arrangement is tightened to secure the anchor element against the soft tissue.
Transmission cover with improved airflow
US Patent 10,295,045
May 21, 2019
A cover for a transmission having improved airflow path is disclosed. The interior of the cover has a progressively narrowing airflow path to reduce pressure drop through the cover, thereby improving the cooling efficiency of the airflow through the cover. The cover includes a diverter sheltering the air inlet to the cover to prevent air in the cover from exerting outward pressure on the incoming air.
Micro kettle
US Patent 10,292,522
May 21, 2019
A microwave kettle includes a main vessel having a pivotally attached lid, with an insert attached to an interior of the lid and extending into the main vessel. The insert is configured with a number of nucleation sites to facilitate boiling of a liquid within the vessel.
Cabinet electrification system
US Patent 10,292,288
May 14, 2019
One of more panels of the cabinet include at least one conductive region that is optionally covered by an insulative covering. These conductive regions are coupled to an external power source. Shelves, drawers, other cabinet components, electrical devices in a cabinet (including, but not limited to, a motor, lights, outlet, appliance, sensor, processor, etc.), and the like can further conduct or receive electrical energy by electrically coupling to the conductive regions within the panels of the cabinet, for example, through shelf pins that are inserted into holes in the panels.
US Patent 10,291,953
May 14, 2019
Systems and methods for managing media mosaics are described. One embodiment provides a media mosaic management method in a media device. The method generates a mosaic filter based on a program selected from a first media mosaic. The mosaic filter is used to identify related programs for presentation in a second, customized media mosaic.
Feed systems and methods for rotary screen separators
US Patent 10,286,340
May 14, 2019
A feed system for a rotary screen separator has a feed housing and at least one feed lid movably attached to the feed housing. The feed housing has a feed chamber, an inlet opening, and at least one outlet opening. The feed chamber defines a proximal portion adjacent to the inlet opening and a distal portion at least a portion of which is adjacent to the at least one outlet opening. A cross-sectional area of at least a portion of the proximal portion is greater than a cross-sectional area of the distal portion. The at least one feed lid is movably attached to the feed housing such that the at least one feed lid covers the at least one outlet opening in a closed position, and does not cover the at least one outlet opening in at least one open position.
Systems and methods for making and using improved contact arrays for electrical stimulation systems
US Patent 10,286,205
May 14, 2019
An electrical stimulation lead includes a lead body that defines an alignment feature extending distally from a proximal end of the lead body and inwardly from an outer surface of the lead body. The lead also includes electrodes disposed along the distal portion of the lead body, segmented terminals disposed along the proximal portion of the lead and arranged in sets of segmented terminals, and lead conductors electrically coupling the electrodes to the terminals. Each set of segmented terminals includes at least two segmented terminals disposed in a circumferential arrangement at a same longitudinal position of the lead. A system can include the lead and a connector for receiving the proximal end of the lead. The connector can include an alignment protuberance extending into a connector lumen and configured to be received into the alignment groove of the lead to align the lead with the connector.
