Variably throttled beverage aerator
US Patent 8,925,443
January 6, 2015
A method and apparati for regulating introduction of ambient air begins with initiating a liquid flow through a venturi to induce a localized drop in pressure at a bowl situated at a venturi throat. Airflow is admitted at a barrel inlet, through a first barrel lumen segment to a first half-moon port at a throttle first side. The airflow is selectively obstructed by a second half-moon port whose rotational position relative to the first half-moon port defines a variable aperture. The airflow is conducted from the second half-moon port through a second barrel lumen segment to the barrel outlet and mixing with the liquid to produce an aerated liquid.

The plurality of electrodes includes a plurality of segmented electrodes. Each of the plurality of segmented electrodes extends partially around the circumference of the lead body. ns axially disposed adjacent to one another.
Electrode array assembly and method of making same
US Patent 8,918,987
December 30, 2014
A lead assembly and a method of making a lead are provided. The method of making a multi-contact lead assembly comprises placing monofilament placed in the void spaces not occupied by the plurality of conductor wires and, in one embodiment, thermally fusing the monofilament to the like material spacer by applying heat just below the melting temperature of the monofilament and spacer material. Alternatively, the monofilament and spacer may be of different materials and heat is applied to cause at least one material to thermally reflow or melt. The conductive contacts may be located at either the distal end and/or proximal end of the lead. Oversized spacers may be used in order to provide extra material to fill voids during the thermal fusion/reflow process.
Method for direct modulation of the dorsolateral funiculus
US Patent 8,923,975
December 30, 2014
A method for treating a patient suffering from chronic neuropathic pain, comprises epidurally applying electrical stimulation energy to a dorsolateral funiculus of the patient, thereby treating the chronic neuropathic pain. The method may further comprise increasing the activation threshold of a side-effect exhibiting neural structure relative to the activation threshold of the dorsolateral funiculus of the patient, wherein the electrical stimulation energy is applied to the dorsolateral funiculus of the patient while the activation threshold of the neural structure relative to the dorsolateral funiculus is increased, thereby treating the chronic neuropathic pain without stimulating the neural structure.
