Automatic motor driven in-line piston pump lubricator
US Patent 8,783,418
July 22, 2014
In various embodiments, the invention provides a lubricator comprising a housing defining, a main lubricant chamber adapted to contain a fluid lubricant. A piston pump in fluid communication with the main lubricant chamber may be adapted to be driven to discharge the lubricant from a pump changer through a lubricant outlet in the housing. A check valve may be mounted on the lubricant outlet, to check the discharge of lubricant from the lubricator. The lubricator may include a motor having a drive shaft adapted to rotate a swash plate to act as a cam to drive reciprocating motion of the pump piston in the pump chamber. The drive shaft may be in axial alignment with the piston, the swash plate being set obliquely on the drive shaft to revolve when the motor is activated to give reciprocating motion to the piston in a direction parallel to the driven shaft. The piston may be biased in the pump chamber against the swash plate, so that the swash plate rides on the piston.

Employing rate shaping class capacities and metrics to balance connections
US Patent 8,788,640
July 22, 2014
A method, system, and apparatus for integrating a rate shaping class analysis with a load balancing decision across multiple network links to improve traffic management decisions. For each of the available multiple network links, a determination is made as to how much bandwidth is available to each class associated with that network link. When a request for a connection is received, the request’s class is determined. A load balancing decision is based on the available bandwidths for the determined class for the request. The invention may also integrate other Quality of Service metrics into the load balancing decision, including link type, failure rates, or the like.
Apparatus, systems and methods for transmitting media content events
US Patent 8,789,096
July 22, 2014
Systems and methods are operable to transmit at least a portion of a media content event. An exemplary embodiment receives a request from a first media device, wherein the request identifies a media content event of interest; identifies a first media content stream with a concluding portion of the media content event of interest currently transmitting to a second media device; concurrently transmits the concluding portion of the media content event of interest to the first media device; and transmits a second media stream containing an initial portion of the media content event to the first media device.
Quantization method for OFDM
US Patent 8,781,007
July 15, 2014
A quantization method for OFDM is described. In an embodiment, the method uses an objective function which is defined as a function of the quantization error of the OFDM signal in frequency summed over data subcarriers. A search algorithm is used to optimize the objective function and the solution found is quantized by rounding. The quantized value of the solution may then be fed back into the objective function to compute a value of that function and if the value is less than the value computed in a previous iteration of the method, the method is repeated using the quantized value of the solution as the new starting point for the search algorithm. If the value of the function is, however, not less than the value computed in a previous iteration, the new solution is discarded and the quantized value of the solution from the previous iteration is output.
Accessing SSL connection data by a third-party
US Patent 8,782,393
July 15, 2014
A method, system, and apparatus are directed towards enabling access to payload by a third-party sent over an SSL session. The third-party may be a proxy situated between a client and a server. SSL handshake messages are sent between the client and the server to establish the SSL connection. As the SSL handshake messages are routed through the proxy, the proxy may extract data. In addition, one of the client or the server may send another message within, or out-of-band to, the series of SSL handshake message directly to the proxy. The other SSL message may include secret data that the proxy may use to generate a session key for the SSL connection. With the session key, the proxy may receive SSL messages over the SSL connection, modify and/or transpose the payload within the received SSL messages, and/or terminate the SSL connection at the proxy.
Fan for drive clutch
US Patent 8,776,930
July 8, 2014
A fan for a drive clutch includes a disk having several vanes that can attach to a drive clutch to direct air toward the clutch to cool the clutch and belt of a CVT transmission. The disk can be injection-molded or otherwise formed and can be bolted onto a clutch drive with the vanes facing toward the clutch drive. An inward-facing surface can be concave to direct air toward the clutch. The disk can attach to the clutch drive using preexisting bolts of the clutch drive.
Paddle lead assemblies for electrical stimulation systems
US Patent 8,774,941
July 8, 2014
A paddle lead assembly for providing electrical stimulation of patient tissue includes a paddle body. The paddle body includes four columns of electrodes, each column including at least one electrode. The columns include two outer columns flanking two inner columns. The paddle lead assembly further includes a plurality of lead bodies coupled to the paddle body. At least one terminal is disposed on each of the plurality of lead bodies. A plurality of conductive wires couple each of the electrodes to at least one of the plurality of terminals.
Read and write optimization for protected area of memory
US Patent 8,775,827
July 8, 2014
A system (and method) to update content of a secure area of a secure digital (SD) card is disclosed. The system performs a first authenticated key exchange to access the secure area of the secure digital memory. The system reads content from the secure area in response to successful performance of the first authenticated key exchange. The system modifies the content in a memory of a computer system. The system performs a second authenticated key exchange to access the secure area of the secure digital card in preparation to write to the secure area of the secure digital memory. The system then writes modified content to the secure area of the secure digital memory in response to successful performance of the second authenticated key exchange.
Key creation and rotation for data encryption
US Patent 8,774,403
July 8, 2014
Embodiments are directed towards enabling cryptographic key rotation without disrupting cryptographic operations. If key rotation is initiated, a transitional key may be generated by encrypting the current key with a built-in system key. A new key may be generated based one at least one determined key parameter. Next, the new key may be activated by the one or more key holders. If the new key is activated, it may be designated as the new current key. The new current key may be employed to encrypt the transitional key and store it in a key array. Each additional rotated key may be stored in the key array after it is encrypted by the current cryptographic key. Further, in response to a submission of an unencrypted query value, one or more encrypted values that correspond to a determined number of rotated cryptographic keys are generated.
