US Patent 9,037,256
May 19, 2015
A system and method for selecting optimal stimulation parameter settings for a therapeutic neural stimulation for a current patient may include obtaining, by at least one processor, electrical parameter maps and corresponding score values of a patient population, and processing, by the at least one processor, the parameter maps and the score values to evaluate, based on a set of score criteria, parameter maps associated with potential stimulation parameter settings.
Peer to peer surveillance architecture
US Patent 9,035,768
May 19, 2015
A peer to peer surveillance architecture comprising a plurality of independent nodes for capturing, analyzing, storing, and viewing surveillance information is disclosed. The surveillance architecture has no central controller or single point of failure because of the peer to peer or independent relationship between its nodes. Generally, surveillance information of various types is captured by one or more capture nodes and transmitted to or one or more viewing, content storage, or server nodes for display, analysis, storage, or a combination thereof. Server nodes may provide authentication services to validate user or device credentials prior to granting access to surveillance information. In one or more embodiments, specialized video compression hardware is provided to allow high quality video surveillance information to be transmitted across low bandwidth connections. Compression may also be performed on other types of surveillance information.
Cryptographic protocol for portable devices
US Patent 9,032,501
May 12, 2015
Embodiments are directed towards communicating using a mobile device that performs actions including. A mobile device may be provisioned with an access point such that a provisioning key and a provisioning token for each of the provisioned access points may be stored on the mobile device. The mobile device may be determined to be in the presence of a provisioned access point based on the provisioning key and an advertising nonce. The advertising nonce may be encrypted with the provisioning key. A communication channel between the mobile device and the access point may be established based on a session nonce, the advertising nonce, and the provisioning key. A session key may be generated based in part on the advertising nonce and a message counter. And, encrypted message packets that include a message and a message authentication tag may be communicated to the access point.
System and method for video conferencing through a television forwarding device
US Patent 9,032,461
May 12, 2015
A system and method for implementing a video conference through a television forwarding device. A remote user is authenticated through a website. A selection of a user is received for the remote user to communicate with through the video conference. An invitation is sent to the television forwarding device. The invitation being configured to prompt the user to accept implementation of the video conference. The video conference is implemented between the remote user and the user in response to the user accepting the invitation.
Non-precise garbage collection in non-cooperative systems
US Patent 9,032,410
May 12, 2015
Embodiments are directed towards garbage collection for an application running on a non-cooperative target platform. Where the garbage collection optimistically manages thread state for transitions to and from native and managed code and that some threads are suspended while others are left executing during garbage collection. When a characteristic of the native code call indicates that a duration of the native code call may exceed a defined duration, state information for the thread may be updated to transition the thread to the unmanaged code environment. When a garbage collection event occurs, thread state information is updated to communicate suspend requests to the threads. Then the runtime may wait for each thread in the managed code environment to be reach a safe state before garbage collection may commence.
Methods and systems for treating seizures caused by brain stimulation
US Patent 9,031,656
May 12, 2015
Methods for treating seizures caused by brain stimulation include providing a stimulator, programming the stimulator with one or more stimulation parameters configured to treat a medical condition, applying at least one stimulus with the stimulator to a stimulation site within the brain of a patient in accordance with the one or more stimulation parameters, and monitoring the patient for a seizure caused by the at least one stimulus.
Cap with integrated spout
US Patent 9,027,769
May 12, 2015
A cap having an integrated spout includes an overcap with an insert for providing a seal for the spout. In various versions, the spout or insert include ribs or other features to provide a watertight seal between the spout and insert. The spout is preferably formed from a resilient material.
Seeding of a workspace to optimize codec operations
US Patent 9,025,657
May 5, 2015
Various embodiments are directed toward compressing and/or decompressing data communicated between one or more network devices (e.g., codec operations). In particular, embodiments are directed towards improving codec performance by seeding the computation workspace that may be used by various codec processors. The seeding data may be determined based on at least one characteristic of a particular codec and the characteristics of data that may be processed by the codec processor. Also, the codec processor may be employed to generate data for the codec workspace based on the determined seeding data. Workspace data may be generated by processing the seeding data with the same codec processor that is used for normal codec operations. The workspace generated from the seeding data may be stored for future use, such as, when a matched data stream arrives.
Clinician programmer system and method for steering volumes of activation
US Patent 9,026,217
May 5, 2015
A system and method for selection of stimulation parameters for Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) may include a processor that displays in a display device and in relation to a displayed model of a leadwire including model electrodes, a current field corresponding to a first stimulation parameter set, provides a user interface for receipt of user input representing a shift of the current field, in response to the user input, moves, in the display device, the current field with respect to the displayed model, determines a second stimulation parameter set that results in the moved current field, and outputs the second stimulation parameter set and/or sets a stimulation device with the second stimulation parameter set, where the stimulation device is configured for performing a stimulation using the leadwire in accordance with the second stimulation parameter set.
