Systems and methods for generation of comprehensive airspace weather condition display

US Patent 8,217,828
July 10, 2012
Systems and methods communicate sensor data pertaining to detected weather between aircraft. An exemplary system has at least one sensor on a transmitting aircraft that is configured to detect weather and configured to output sensor data, and a transceiver that is configured to receive a query from a requesting aircraft for the sensor data and that is configured to transmit a signal with the sensor data for receipt by the requesting aircraft in response to receiving the query. Upon receipt by the requesting aircraft, the received sensor data of the transmitting aircraft may then be fused with sensor data of the requesting aircraft for a geographic region of interest to extend the effective sensor coverage and to resolve at least one of a location conflict and a severity conflict between the sensor data of the transmitting aircraft and the requesting aircraft.

Architectural panel with palm leaves

US Patent D663,441
July 10, 2012
The ornamental design for the architectural panel with palm leaves, as shown and described.

Adjustable steering assembly

US Patent 8,215,201
July 10, 2012
A vehicle, such as an all-terrain or utility-terrain vehicle, includes a telescoping, adjustable, steering assembly. The steering assembly includes a steering device that is coupled to the steering assembly, which can be adjusted to increase or decrease the height of the steering device. The steering assembly may include a detent member, a steering post, a yoke, a collar, and a biasing member. The steering post includes axially spaced arcuate grooves where a detent member is seated and held in place with a collar. The collar includes a tapered internal surface for applying lateral pressure to the detent member to lock the yoke in place relative to the steering post. Without the use of tools, the collar may be moved to release the lateral pressure on the detent member, which in turn permits the yoke to be moved relative to the steering post—resulting in adjustment of the steering device.

Collapsible salad spinner

US Patent 8,215,230
July 10, 2012
A collapsible salad spinner includes a bowl, basket, and lid. Each of the bowl and basket are formed such that they are collapsible, with the bowl and basket being collapsible while nested within one another.

Using pole pieces to guide magnetic flux through a MEMS device and method of making

US Patent 8,215,169
July 10, 2012
Two opposing substrate layers each having one or more recesses filled with magnetic material guide the flow of flux through a coil in a MEMS device layer to provide for closed-loop operation. Flux flows from one pole piece through the coil to a second pole piece. A method of making using lithographic etching techniques is also provided.

Identifying unauthorized access to a network resource

US Patent 8,214,899
July 3, 2012
An online service gathers information about a user’s access to an online account and makes that information available to the account owner and/or other authorized user. When an online account is accessed, the online service logs a time stamp, a network address from which the account was accessed, a port number, a user ID, routing data, and/or other access data. The online service may use the access information to obtain address ownership name, geographic location, and/or other ownership information associated with the account access. The accessing client also stores access data. The client, account owner, and/or another decision maker evaluates all, or portions of information to detect unauthorized access to the account. The decision maker may dynamically evaluate and display the access data or later compare log files of the online service and the account owner’s local log file.

Protocol circuit layer

US Patent 8,208,466
June 26, 2012
A protocol circuit layer is described. The protocol circuit layer may employ a routing layer to determine optimal routes when establishing a circuit. The circuit layer may employ a link layer to send data packets over links to other network nodes. A naming layer may employ circuits to establish a distributed database of associations between network node addresses and their network locations.
