Michael Smith has nearly 15 years of experience as a patent examiner and patent agent. He graduated from Clarkson University in New York, earning a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1986. Mike was an examiner in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office between 1991-95, serving as a computer software patent examiner. Between 1995 98, he worked for Christensen O’Connor Johnson & Kindness in Seattle as a patent agent. He subsequently joined Allied Signal from 1998-99, preparing and prosecuting patent applications. Between 1986-91 he was a pilot in the U.S. Navy. He presently holds a commercial pilot’s license.
